This Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company receipt was from the 1880s. Features Uihlein family as President, secretary and superintendent who were the descendants of founder August Krug and worked for Joseph Schlitz when he took over the company. Gorgeous vignette of the Milwaukee plant and Schlitz Logo.

The Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company as founded in 1849 in Milwaukee and was once the largest brewer in the U.S. It was founded by August Krug and then was taken over by Joseph Schlitz when he married Krug's widow in 1858. Schlitz is now owned by the Pabst Brewing Company.
