This rare NYSE trade ticket was issued 1934 by Harris, Upham & Co for 100 shares of Studebaker to Fenner & Beane. The front features two stock transfer stamps from the State of New York and the U.S Dept of Revenue. Tons of history in this one!
Harris, Upham & Co was a Wall Street brokerage house founded in 1895. In 1975 Smith Barney merged with Harris, Upham & Co to form Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. The Harris, Upham name was removed 2 years later. In 2009, Smith Barney merged with Morgan Stanley to form Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
Fenner & Beane was founded in 1916 and later merged with Merrill Lynch to become Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Beane in 1941.
