Description

Stock Exchange Clearing Houses were formed to settle stock trades and acted as an intermediary between buyers and sellers. The stock to be delivered was shown on a balance sheet of the member firm and then cancelled out against the incoming trade tickets. This helped assure the security of the transaction by preventing fraud and people reneging on trades. The New York Stock Exchange formed their clearing house in 1892. As volume grew, they established the Stock Clearing Corporation in 1920. The result of these clearing houses greatly reduced the volatility on the NYSE by lowering settlement risk thus improving market stability.

This Stock Clearing Clearing Corporation identification card was issued by the Distributing Department to John Borgese of Wagner, Scott & Company in 1957.

This Stock Clearing Corp ID Card is presented in a gorgeous high quality acrylic display that weights almost 13 oz. Magnetically held together, the display is easy to open if you want to inspect your item. Perfect for a desktop or bookshelf display.
