This is American Airlines Specimen Note Certificate is from 1970 for $10,000 due in 1988 and paid 10 7/8%. American Airlines is one of the largest airlines in the world and was started back in 1930 through the merger of over 80 small airlines. Features a nice vignette of a ground crew worker and the tail of AA jet.

Specimen stock certificates are certificates that were archived by printers and the company as perfect examples of the company’s stock issue. Specimen’s can be identified by their “specimen” stamp, stamped holes spelling “specimen”, or they are often issued with a serial number of a series of zeros. Often, they are also issued with no serial number at all. Specimens can also represent a design that was never issued.
