This Associated Gas and Electric Company  Stock Certificate was issued in 1931 and features Howard Colwell Hopson as Vice President. AG&E was one of the largest electricity producers in the U.S. in the 1920s-30s. Hopson was the founded and controlling shareholder and in the late 1930s was imprisoned for embezzling $20 million from the company.
