Description Extended Information

This Oklahoma Oil Corporation stock certificate is hand-signed by oil tycoon J. Paul Getty in 1922. It is stock certificate #333 issued to G.W. Wooley for 1000 shares.

Getty and his father George, incorporated Oklahoma Oil in 1916 just two years after J. Paul finished college. Getty's impact on the Oklahoma Oil industry is unquestioned. His Nancy Taylor Number One Oil Well Site was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. J. Paul Getty founded Getty Oil in 1942 and in 1957 Fortune Magazine declared him as the wealthiest living American. Getty Oil became the world's largest privately owned business and made him a billionaire. He used his massive wealth to build one of the largest collections of art in the world and would form the basis of the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.

J. Paul Getty and the kidnapping of his Grandson John Paul Getty III were the subject of the movie All the Money in the World starring Mark Wahlberg and the Netflix Limited Series Trust with Donald Sutherland portraying J. Paul Getty.

This J. Paul Getty signed stock certificate is uniquely framed with archival quality materials to allow viewing of the certificate from the front and back. Antiqued gold finish.
