The Hale and Norcross mining Company was in Virginia City Nevada and was part of the Comstock Lode. The site was originally discovered in 1859. Mark Twain writes about his experience with Hale and Norcross Mining Company stock in his "My Autobiography" by Mark Twain in a 1907 issue of the North American Review. He was an investor in the company.

The Hale & Norcross mine would become the largest silver producer in the Comstock with over $130 million in silver.
