This large hand-colored old map of Massachusetts area was published by A.J. Johnson and Benjamin Ward. The map is from Johnson's New Illustrated (Steel Plate) Family Atlas. The map features details of Cape Cod, The Massachusetts Bay, Nantucket Island down to Long Island Sound.

A.J. Johnson was a prominent map maker in the United States in the 19th Century. He worked along side Colton in his early days before branching out on his own. His first major publication was Johnson's New Illustrated (Steel Plate) Family Atlas.
