This Mobile & Ohio Railroad Company Stock Certificate  was issued in 1900 and is hand-signed by the company president. Chartered in 1848 by the states of Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky to connect Mobile Alabama and the Ohio River near Cairo, Illinois.  It merged with the Gulf, Mobile and Northern RR in 1940 to form the Gulf, Mobile, and Ohio Railroad.
