Description Extended Information

This Nash-Kelvinator Company stock certificate was issued in 1949.

The Nash Motors company was founded in Kenosha Wisconsin in 1916. Nash Motors was founded by Charles W. Nash, formerly the president of Buick and of General Motors, who had quit both organizations over policy differences. In 1937 Nash merged with Kelvinator Appliance Company as condition of new CEO George W Mason appointment. They primarily made household refrigeration units. They later acquired the Hudson Motor Car Company and Kelvinator continued as a wholly owned subsidiary.

Added to the Dow Jones Industrial Average October 1, 1928.
