This New Orleans Great Northern Railway Company Stock Certificate was from 1934. The railroad was incorporated in 1905 by the owner of one of the largest saw mills in the country. It was merged with the East Louisiana Railway the same year. The regional rail line became known as "The Ozone Route" which was a nod to the southeaster parishes of Louisiana which were rich in "ozone" and quality air for vacationers.
