Description Extended Information

This Option Mining Company stock certificate was issued for 2000 shares in 1925 and is hand signed by the company president Lorena K. Stratton and secretary William Stratton. The Option Mining Company was formed in 1925 and consisted of Ohio and Pacific Lode claims located in the Placer Center Mining District in Shoshone County, Idaho.

In 1928 accounting irregularities were found. The board stopped paying salaries to the officers and the Strattons paid $3575 in cash, replaced 70,660 shares of stock to the company treasury and reconstructed 1500 fee of track in the Ohio and Pacific lode tunnel as a settlement. The board accepted the settlement for the errors and irregularities perpetrated by the Strattons.
