This Pine Creek Railway Company $1000 Bond Certificate was signed by William Kissam Vanderbilt, Jr. and Chauncey M. Depew in 1885. The bond was later transferred to his father, W.H. Vanderbilt and then to his brother Frederick W. Vanderbilt as indicated on the reverse. Fantastic condition with gorgeous signatures. Oversized: 15" x 9.5"

William K. Vanderbilt, Jr.
William Jr was the son of William K. Vanderbilt and was a successful railroad executive in his own right. He was promoted to assistant to the President of the New York Central Lines in 1910 and Vice President in 1912. He became President in 1918. He was also a Director for the Western Union Telegraph Company.

W.H. Vanderbilt & Frederick W. Vanderbilt
W.H. Vanderbilt was the son and heir of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt and was once the richest man in the U.S. He would pass about 7 months after this bond was transferred to him. Frederick W. Vanderbilt, was the son of W.H. and brother of William Jr. and was also a prominent railroad executive.

Chauncey M Depew
Depew was a prominent lawyer, railroad executive and politician who worked for Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt and his railroads. He served as President of the New York Central and was a U.S. Senator for New York.
