This rare Shearson floor trader jacket patch would have most likely been worn on trader shoulder/sleave.

Shearson was founded in 1902 and underwent several mergers with well known companies including American Express. They merged with Lehman Brothers in 1984 and then E.F. Hutton in 1988. Subsequent mergers included Primerica/ Citigroup and then finally Smith Barney and eventually the Shearson name got removed. Smith Barney would go on to merge with Morgan Stanley.
