This rare Goodyear's Metallic Rubber Shoe Company Stock Certificate was issued in 1876. Naugatuck, Connecticut. Goodyear was the first licensee of the new manufacturing process call vulcanization which was patented by Charles Goodyear. These Goodyear's Metallic Rubber Shoe Company stock certificate are widely recognized as some of the earliest documents from the American Rubber industry. This early rubber company would eventually be consolidated into the U.S. Rubber Company in 1892.
