This Pioneer Consolidated Mines Company Stock Certificate was issued in 1917 and is hand-signed by the company president. Founded in Wyoming with mine in Nye County, Bullfrog, Nevada.  They operated 12 gold claims located north of Rhyolite. The Pioneer Mine was so successful the mining camp officially became a town named Pioneer in 1909.  A fire swept through the town and while it was rebuilt it never fully recovered.  Several years later the Pioneer mine experience a collapse and was forced to shut down.  It briefly reopened but never to its former glory.  The mine and town died.
