On July 2, 2012, Union Pacific CEO Jack Koraleski rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange to commemorate their 150 year anniversary. The history of Union Pacific and the NYSE goes back a long way. They even had their own dedicated trading post in 1875.

Union Pacific was founded in July 1, 1862 when Abraham Lincoln signed the Pacific Railway Act and they helped to construct the first transcontinental railroad.
