This United Shoe Machinery Corp stock certificate was issued in 1912 and is hand-signed. United Shoe was founded in 1899 through the merger of Goodyear Machinery, Consolidated Hand Lasting Machinery and McKay Shoe Machinery.  United Shoe manufactured industrial machinery and monopolized the American Shoe Machinery business and would become global company.  They became a major defense contractor during WWI and II. They are now part of Black and Decker.
