Founded in Denver in 1996, Verio is a web hosting provider. They were purchased by NTT Communications in 2000 for over $5 billion. The purchase was subject to congressional hearings due the the fact NTT was majority owned by the Japanese Government. As part of negotiations Verio was separated from NTT and staffed by only U.S. Citizens. This Verio Stock Certificate was issued in 1999.
