This rare White Star Plaster Company Gold Bond certificate was issued in 1921 and signed by A.C. Hupp. Incorporated in Nevada 1916.  White Star Plaster mined and processed gypsum in Clark County, Nevada.  They built a mill connected by shortline to Arrowhead on the St. Thomas Branch of the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad.  By 1921 shipments to Los Angeles averaged 3000 tons per month.  A post office called Hupton opened in 1922 and was named after A.C. Hupp.  A small town named Hupton arose with a population around 500.  White Star ceased operations in 1923 and Hupton soon disappeared with it.
