This Williams Brothers Company $1,000 Bond Certificate was issued in 1972.  Williams Brothers was founded in 1908 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  They built nationwide natural gas and oil pipelines.  They moved to Tulsa in 1919 and became simply The Williams Companies, Inc. in the 1970s. After several major pipeline purchases they where headed to bankruptcy when market conditions changed.  An emergency high-interest loan from Warren Buffett kept them in business.
